Meet us Friday in Clarens at 12 noon for tour briefing to departure by 13h00 for Lesotho's Caledonspoort border post. Enjoy some tar twisties, making our way to the Afriski Mountain Resort, which will be our base for 2 nights.
Day 2 we once again ride the tar routes through the majestic tall mountains and narrow valleys of Lesotho to Sani Mountain Lodge, know to many just as "SANI TOP" at 2874 meters above sea level. Here the adventurous have the option to ride down and back up the famous gravel route known as "Sani Pass". Returning in the afternoon to Afriski Mountain Resort for dinner in SKY Restaurant, the highest restaurant in Africa.
In the morning after a hearty breaky for we depart for Katse Dam on gravel routes including a picnic snack to overnight in Thaba Tseka at Motherland Guesthouse & dinner.
Day 4 we breakfast then take more twisty tar routes to Semonkong via 'God Save Me Pass', the Malentsunyane Falls, (Semonkong's No.1 attraction) they are not the tallest waterfalls at 192-meters-high and neither the greatest by volume of water, but they're attractive and worth a visit... followed by either the Basotho Heritage Blanket Tour or the Donkey Pub Crawl - weather depending. Today includes a 'slap-chips' snack lunch bought from the locals in the town of Semonkong. We overnight at one of our favourite place, Semonkong Lodge, and enjoy drinks & a 3 course dinner (included) in The Duck & Donkey Tavern.
In the morning after breakfast we pack the yumos sarmies made by the Semonkong Lodge on their traditional fired baked bread rolls (which you would have already fallen in love with the night before at dinner) and head south via Mohaleshoek Pass to Malealea on a mix of tar & gravel, enjoying the said sarmies en-route at a picturesque location, to overnight at the Malealea Lodge & a set menu dinner including dessert.
Sadly all good things must come to an end! Today we head for home exiting the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho via the Maseru bridge border post.
Until we tour again together Keep Safe & Make Life A Ride.
